Well, Hetalia does not include explicit Boy-on-Boy action, it is considered to be &quot;BL,&quot; due to the fact that most of the featured characters are attractive male, and they involve in close male bonding actions.  For example, the playfulness of Italy towards Germany fuels the fantasies of BL-lovers.  Because of this, the Japanese newspaper in general has referred Hetalia to be &quot;BL.&quot;

Now that you mention it, the author may not have necessarily wanted it to be a BL.  However, he does know how to draw up some attractive guys.....  Greece is pretty hot.</description>

		<description>XD  Hetalia is not BL. There is no blatent romance and sex going like your generic BL titles and it doesn&#039;t deal with being gay. Hetalia is a satire about history, which happens to be a popular slash pairing target for fans due to it&#039;s large and majority male cast and easy-to-interpret alliances/friendships between countries.

But I doubt it was ever intended as BL by the author outside of satire and silliness.</description>
